COVID eliminated the possibility of doing this type of work in person for a while, but I'm really enjoying a return to live illustration in workshops as well as continuing to exercise the online skills I developed over the last couple of years. Most of the live illustration which I produce in ideation sessions / brainstorms / workshops is rightly locked down by NDA, but occasionally I work on sessions where the ideas are completely unconnected to the client’s work – and often completely bizarre! – the object being to encourage broad creative thinking by getting participants to generate ideas for sectors unrelated to those which they usually work in.

I thrive on these high-pressure, fire-and-forget type workshops, massaging loose concepts into simple, effective and memorable illustrations, and producing some of my favourite work in the process.

These are all two minute scamps, thrown together as quickly as possible on marker pads during these sessions. Please forgive image quality, as they’re all processed from quick phone photographs.
